I am a cognitive-communication specialist dedicated to evaluating and treating patients with cognitive linguistic dysfunction caused by brain injuries, strokes, concussions and progressive neurological changes. I utilize standardized testing with validity indicators along with evidenced based interventions for functional usage. In greater detail, I work on memory, problem solving, speed of processing and executive functioning instead of focusing on the traditional speech mechanics.
Test the Tester
You read that correctly! At the beginning of our initial treatment session, I ask the patient to give me a test. I feel it is important that I demonstrate to individuals how I can remember copious amounts of information at a fast rate. After this demonstration on my part, I immediately train the individual to do the exact same as I do. Upon completion of training, I will then give them a list of information and within that very session, they are able to emulate exactly what I do.
